Practical Ideas for Electromagnetism, Forces and Waves.
This practical-focused course is designed to equip teachers with a range of straightforward, accessible and engaging practical activities that can be implemented immediately in the classroom.
Focusing on electromagnetism, forces and waves, the session will explore how practical work can develop understanding, strengthen subject knowledge and increase student engagement.
Participants will be introduced to a variety of low-cost, easy-to-resource investigations and demonstrations that support key curriculum concepts while remaining manageable within the constraints of a busy classroom.
The course will cover:
Practical approaches to teaching electromagnetism, helping students visualise and understand abstract concepts.
Hands-on investigations for forces, enabling students to explore relationships and patterns through concrete experience.
Engaging waves practicals that make challenging ideas more accessible and memorable.
Strategies for selecting and adapting practical work to maximise learning and minimise workload.
Opportunities to share ideas and discuss how practical activities can be used effectively to support curriculum progression and examination success.
Teachers will leave with a bank of practical ideas, resources and approaches that can be readily integrated into their existing schemes of learning.
