Description

Training for ECTs is imperative if staff are to have the knowledge and skills to teach religious education well in Newham. If your school is not part of the Boleyn Trust ECT programme then RE Matters offers these half day training.

Why should I attend?

  • If you are an ECT in year 1 or 2 this course is for you

  • It will help you understand your religious and belief context

  • Help you know where to find subject support and become more knowledgeable and confident around teaching about different religious traditions and beliefs

  • Using the B&D RE Agreed Syllabus

  • The religious and cultural make up of Newham

  • Where to go to get questions on religions answered

  • Resources to use in RE lessons

  • Being creative and thoughtful in teaching RE

  • Handling sensitive questions and difficult subjects
