Join us for this year’s Deputy Headteachers’ Conference, focused on the theme Leading Connected Teams.
Deputy headteachers play a pivotal role in shaping the culture, cohesion and effectiveness of school teams. This one-day conference explores how leaders can build strong working alliances, foster a sense of belonging and create the conditions for teams to thrive.
The day begins with insights from Agnes Fitzpatrick from Teacher Engagement Platform, exploring how engagement and connection influence staff experience and organisational culture.
The remainder of the conference will be led by leadership coach Katherine Powell, who will guide delegates through an interactive programme titled “Knowing Me; Knowing You: Building Fast and Effective Team Belonging.” Drawing on research including Amy Edmondson’s work on psychological safety, Daniel Coyle’s insights on team culture, and Patrick Lencioni’s work on team dynamics, the session will explore how leaders establish trust, manage team dynamics and rebuild connectedness when challenges arise.
Through discussion, reflection and coaching activities, delegates will gain practical tools and strategies to strengthen collaboration, build belonging and lead highly effective teams in their schools.
This conference provides an excellent opportunity for deputy headteachers to reflect on their leadership, connect with peers and leave with actionable approaches to developing stronger teams.
