Strengthening Professional Learning and Classroom Practice

What are the benefits to practice?

Join fellow Science Leads for a collaborative session with a focus on how to maximise the impact of professional development, and strengthening the quality of teaching across the department. During the meeting, colleagues will share practical approaches to:

  • Tracking and collating feedback from team members with leadership responsibilities, helping HoDs gain a clearer picture of departmental strengths, priorities and impact.

  • Making the most of CPDL by ensuring professional learning translates into meaningful changes in classroom practice.

  • Embedding effective modelling in science lessons, with a focus on how leaders can support, monitor and sustain this key aspect of teaching following departmental CPDL.

The session will provide opportunities to learn from successful practice in other departments, reflect on current approaches, and leave with practical strategies that can be adapted for your own context.
